What is AI metadata?
Some files exported by AI tools carry hidden information beyond the pixels. Generators write EXIF and XMP fields naming the software, sometimes the full prompt, seed and model version.
Newer tools also embed C2PA "content credentials" — a signed manifest describing how the file was made. It travels with the file wherever it goes, often without you realising.
